Description
TPT for Simulink® and Simulink Real-Time™ is a specialized tool for verifying model-based designs in industries such as automotive. It helps test engineers create, execute, and manage test cases on Simulink models, Simulink Real-Time targets, and generated code. Through its requirements-based testing approach, TPT enables full traceability from requirements to test results, automatically documenting requirements coverage for thorough validation.
Typical users employ TPT for modular test design, back-to-back testing, automated coverage measurements, and advanced signal analysis. By supporting parallel test runs, static and dynamic checks, and comprehensive reporting, TPT reduces repetitive tasks and streamlines the verification process. TPT complements testing and verification activities performed with MATLAB® and Simulink products for verification and validation.
TPT interacts with MATLAB® via a TCP/IP connection, enabling remote control of MATLAB to run scripts, generate Simulink models, and run simulations. For test execution, a test frame model is run in Simulink while signal data is exchanged with the Simulink engine via S-functions. This connectivity is included with the main product and supports model-in-the-loop or real-time workflows. By leveraging these APIs, TPT provides consistent, automated testing across all development stages, helping teams ensure quality and efficiency in complex embedded systems.
