A Simscape™ model of an aileron actuation system that performs well in desktop simulation is reused for HIL testing. The model includes a motor, motor driver, analog circuitry for the speed and current controller, and a three-dimensional mechanical model of the aileron, all within the Simulink® environment. The configuration steps include enabling the Simscape local solver, verifying speed and accuracy of the fixed-step simulation, and converting to C code. Simulink Coder™ is used to convert the model to C code, and Simulink Real-Time™ is used. When the model is running on the real-time target, values of Simscape run-time parameters are modified directly on the target without regenerating C code.
