Electric Vehicle Powertrain Sizing and Optimization for Student Competitions

Overview

In this webinar, we will provide an overview of some of the new and advanced electric vehicle powertrain solutions for student competitions. We will start the session with an introduction to the Simscape Battery to design battery systems. Further, we will build a simple electric powertrain using Simscape Electrical and Simscape Fluids to select electric motors and size cooling systems. Finally, we will provide an overview of the Powertrain Blockset that can be used for tradeoff analysis and component sizing, control parameter optimization, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.

Highlights

  • Battery modeling and BMS
  • Formula Student electric vehicle simulation
  • Motor cooling system design
