Description

Volcano VSA supports the full AUTOSAR system and software design process. Among other functions, VSA covers: 

  • Software component, composition, and behavior design 
  • Topology design 
  • Communication design (with Volcano VSA COM designer) 
  • Software component–to-ECU mapping and system-signal mapping 
  • ECU extract generation 

VSA supports round-trip exchange of AUTOSAR XML files for software components and compositions with MATLAB® and Simulink®. VSA exports the software design structure including the internal behavior, which will then be imported by MATLAB and Simulink and then visualized (ports, interfaces, connectivity, etc.). Engineers use Model-Based Design to create the application software with MATLAB, Simulink, and Embedded Coder®. The resulting structure based on standardized AUTOSAR formats is exported back into VSA, which offers dedicated compare and merge capabilities. This enables an iterative design of the E/E system.
