Description

TAITherm is a 3D thermal simulation software that predicts temperatures using transient or steady-state analysis. TAITherm solves for solar and thermal radiation, convection, and conduction, including transient environments. TAITherm thermal-centric user interface simplifies complex model setup and a fast thermal solver supports rapid design studies to optimize design in real-world scenarios. The parallel solver runs using shared or distributed memory to accelerate performance. TAITherm is also used for co-simulation with many 1D and CFD programs to provide faster and more accurate thermal analysis.

TAITherm also has a series of application-specific extensions for more detailed modeling, including: 

  • Battery – analyzes the complexities of your batteries at a cell and pack level. Thermal and electrical solvers can predict battery lifetime, durability, and thermal runaway. This extension can also integrate with BMS software to simulate fast charging or other challenging thermal scenarios.
  • Exhaust – specialized fluid flow solver to accurately predict pipe and component temperatures for exhaust system. This extension includes a library of pre-built components with a setup process. You can optimize your exhaust system design quickly and understand how it will perform in hot soak or time-based scenarios.
  • Human Thermal – for predicting human thermal comfort, safety, and effectiveness. This provides a comprehensive simulation of human thermoregulation and thermal sensation under transient and asymmetric environmental conditions.

TAITherm is used by engineers and teams around the globe. Its customers use TAITherm for an array of applications, including the latest advancements in automotive, electronics, wearables, military technology, architecture, and more. Engineers can use TAITherm for thermal modeling of Underhood and Underbody Thermal Management, Heat Shield Design and Optimization, Thermal Comfort, HVAC, and Climate Control Systems, Brakes, and Electronics.

TAITherm can couple with MATLAB or Simulink using the TAITherm Solver API which supports 1D and 3D co-simulation for multi-physics and controls applications.  Example uses include battery pack thermal management, HVAC controls, and photovoltaic models. TAITherm can also be coupled with MATLAB using data files, which can be imported or exported to either tool. This method can be used to develop surrogate models or reduced order models that can be used with system models or machine learning applications.
