The TriCore is the first unified, single-core, 32-bit microcontroller-DSP architecture optimized for real-time embedded systems. The TriCore(TM) Instruction Set Architecture (ISA) combines the real-time capability of a microcontroller, the computational power of a DSP, and the high performance for price features of a RISC load and store architecture, in a compact reprogrammable core.
The TriCore family of 32-bit microcontrollers is supported through the TASKING integrated development environment from Altium, and Embedded Coder from MathWorks. These products enable users to design their algorithms graphically in Simulink, generate production quality ANSI-C code with Embedded Coder, compile and link for execution on a TriCore processor with the TASKING tools, and perform processor-in-the-loop (PIL) testing on real or simulated hardware with Embedded Coder.
