why can't Matlab find Fieldtrip?

I have downloaded the Fieldtrip toolbox and loaded it into the Matlab R2020a. But when I enter 'fieldtrip' in the command window, it doesn't work.

Have you correctly added the necessary subdirecties to your MATLAB path according to these instructions?

Are you using the tool as intended? From the tutorials, there does not appear to be a fieldtrip function. I suggest going through the Walkthrough page, as well as the introductory tutorial.

I have added all of the subdirectories to Matlab by the function 'setting path'. And there aren't any other toolboxes in the matlab，for example eeglab and spm. Here is my Fieldtrip. Where can't I find the fieldtrip.m？Thank you very much！

The fieldtrip toolbox does not provide a fieldtrip.m file. The fieldtrip toolbox does not provide a GUI.

specifically states "In general you should not add FieldTrip with all subdirectories to your path" and explains that adding all of the subdirectories can cause problems using the toolbox. It is worth noting that the documentation download page links to the FAQ clearly states "After downloading, you can follow the instructions in this frequently asked question for setting up the MATLAB path."

You are likely to have a lot of problems using the toolbox if you do not follow its instructions.
