I just installed R2021a, and selected the web option for the help. On every session, the first time I start the help browser (e.g. using 'doc min') I get a pop up that asks me to select a region. When you click on the "select a region" button your broswer is opened with that web site, and then you get a cookie consent to agree to. This is really irritating. Closing the popup with the cross in the top right hand corner is slightly better, but the fact this shows up each session is still annoying. Pic below.
How can I stop it?
thanks

Is your browser clearing the cookies?

In my web browser (Firefox) the regional selection is remembered between sessions and I don't get this problem. In the MATLAB help browser it doesn't seem to store this and I always get the pop up window.

I am having the same problem 2024a - but even worse, as the window pops up every time I ask for a new doc - even if it's just clicking the back button in the doc window. I would rather not switch to local documentation as that (I assume) means using a lot of disk.

Hi Andrew. Thank you for your question. We are aware of this issue and will be rolling out a fix in the coming months. In the meantime, you can change your settings to your locally installed documentation and the issue will no longer occur. Instructions in the image below.

The country selector issue should now be fixed. If you close and reopen MATLAB, and encounter any more issues, please let me know.

This issue occured again in R2024a, which is so troublesome. Could anyone give this a fix? Asked me to choose a region, if I chose China (simplified Chinese), the box goes away but nothing shows. If I chose China (English), the box goes away and nothing shows, and my browser pops up and visits mathworks chinese website automatically. If I chose United States English, it the region selector will go away and appear again almost instantly asking me to choose again...This is so frustrating. This happens to every frsking new page I browser on this help browser...

Seems the only thing we can do at present is change your settings to your locally installed documentation. Then it won't pops up.

For me it's exactly the case. I want to read the docs in english and don't want to be asked to switch region everytimes. Even in within the Matlab application. It's really annoying.

I'm having this issue now as well on 2023b, in the help browser. Every time I open it I get the fullscreen region selection window. It's going so far that even after I click a region, and then use the same help browser window to go to a different help topic, it shows the region selection window again. I tried installing local help files to get around this, but even after installation, the window that opens claims I still need to install local help files.

Same for me in 2024a (though I haven't installed local help files).
