Firewire camera not recognized by matlab

Hi Everyone , I have a Scion Corporation firewire camera .I tried to open it on my I-Mac in matlab. But it could not recognize the camera.I have image J also and it shows me the live video feed .So,this is not a hardware issue.Please help.

Was the camera plugged in and seen before opening the MATLAB session?

How did you try to "recognize" it? Did you run imaqtool?

I did .When I ran imaqtool , I could see my mac's inbuilt camera but I did not see the scion camera over there.

Just to be sure, does it show up in Device Manager (whatever the iMac's version of Device Manager in Windows is) or not? Sounds like it does because ImageJ can see it.
