repeating plot

I have a large set of 3d data that I want to plot using plot3, but this process is taking ages.

is there anyway I can reduce the time to plot these points?

Please post the exact dimensions and the command you plot with. "large" can mean 1.000 or 1.000.000 elements and the answer depends on such details.

Changing the figure 'renderer' property might speed up the plotting.

Generally speaking, the way to speed up large plots is to reduce the amount of data to be plotted. That might involve sub-sampling the data or gridding it.
