Combine /fuse two images into one

Hi all

I have two images . I want to combine them into one image .1st images has a size of 512x271

and the second image has a size of 512x271x512

I want to combine them into one image with size of 512x271x512 like last image

but I don't know how I can do this . I have used imfuse but its not working for me . any one help me in tis matter

 other_images = .... whatever is needed to read your 512x271x512 into an array

 blend = 0.2;
 mask1 = imbinarize(im1);

 fused = other_images;
 for slice = 1 : size(fused, 3)
   this_slice = fused(:,:,slice);
   this_slice(mask1) = this_slice(mask1) * (1-blend) * im1(mask1);
   fused(:,:,slice) = this_slice;
 end

Here, blend is the portion of the image that should be used at those locations, rather than just overwriting the pixels with the white line.

Error using * MTIMES (*) is not fully supported for integer classes. At least one argument must be scalar.

This make the whole image like this .

Either cast the image back to uint8,

this_slice = uint8(this_slice);

or display with []:

imshow(this_slice, []);

There is no need to cast back to uint8 before storing this_slice into fused. Although this_slice will be double at that point, fused was constructed as a copy of other_images and so anything stored into it will automatically be converted into the data type that other_images was.

If you were just debugging by displaying this_slice, then

imshow(cast(this_slice), class(fused))

The one case you could have problems is if im1 (the image to be blended in) is uint8 but other_images is double in the range 0 to 1. In that situation, the .8 of the 255 that im1 probably is, would contribute 204 to the array that is hypothetically 0 to 1, which would saturate the locations it is being stored into. However that would affect relatively few locations, and if it were going to create problems with displaying the image, it would tend to make most locations black instead of white.

The fused image contain the edge in black color . I want to change its color. how I can do this

The fused image should be making the edge in white unless your im1 is not really a JPEG image or unless your other_images is int16 or uint16 with a high range.

What is class(im1) and class(other_images) and max(im1(:)) and max(other_images(:)) ?
