Comparison between two histograms??

After evaluating chi-square distance between two histograms, I am getting large number of values ,how to interpret these values , in order to take some decision...

What do you want to know about the images? Why do you think comparing the histograms is the best way to find that out?

In the shape retrieval based on Contour descriptor...I am computing shape context of contour , instead using time consuming bi-partite graph matching...I will find comparison between two histograms, which shape context forms....For that I am performing chi-square distance between two histograms...Instead a single value i am getting matrix..how can I get the single value so that I will take decision
