Hi, I'd like to install the new version of MatLab (Release 2017a) but I first want to be sure that it's not going to erase all what I've done on the previous version. Thanks for your answers...

I mean all the functions that I coded this year : I wonder if by installing the new version of MatLab, they could be "overwritten"? I've already saved them in my documents but I wouldn't like them to disappear if I download the new release! Well I actually guess it wouldn't but I asked just to be sure...

I can understand that you would be fearful of losing your work. No matter what, it is a good idea to keep a backup. A USB drive is cheap insurance against problems, and is nice in case of hard disk failure or corruption.
But no, don't worry that MATLAB will delete things. I have often had several working releases on my computer. And Walter has just about every possible release.
You will need to redo the search path, to include your old working directories, but that is about all.

MATLAB does NOT erase your old code. In fact, you can have multiple releases of MATLAB on one computer.
Of course, if you are silly enough to have saved your code under the MATLAB root directories, this is a bad idea for good reasons. Code in those directories is cached,so any changes to your code will not be seen until the cache is regenerated. That happens on restarting MATALB, or if you force it.
Anyway, just save your code in your own directories, then put them on your search path.
I even wrote a little utility function to help you to update your search path in a new release.

i have problem when i used matlab's new version. I trying to run file of previous version but it's not worked. Problems like "Cannot find parameter 'C_max_nominal_specify'. Please run ssc_build if you have made changes to Simscape file or if you are upgrading to a new version of Simscape." I don't see anywhere to run ssc_file, can you help me. I'm a beginner :)

This probably should be a new question on its own, since it's not really related to the main question that was asked.
But I have to ask: what happened when you ran ssc_build as the error message you received recommended?
