Matlab editor gets stuck every 30 secs

Hi,

My matlab editor gets stuck every 30 secs. When I start matlab editor in my computer it works fine for about 30 secs to 1min. After that it gets stuck for about 1 min and then again starts for 30 secs. During the stuck period I can move the matlab window but cannot enter anything. Is there any way I can fix this problem. I am using a windows7 64 bit OS and my matlab is R2011a version.

Could be a variety of things. Are you using Windows? Type control-shift-Esc and look at the Processes tab, sorted by CPU time. See if anything is hogging the CPU time. Then look at the Performance tab to see if your CPU spikes periodically. Maybe you're disk is being defragged, or a virus scan is running, or your company is doing a software update in the background. Maybe Java is screwed up or the wrong version.
