how can i write a code for Shot Boundary detection using least square

its my first time to deal with images and videos in matlab i need in my project to 1. Extract features F for each frame from HSV Color Histogram Difference Method or RGB Color Histogram Difference Method or Block Based Method or Pixel Differences Method . Here, features are the dissimilarity value between the current frames i and next frame i + 1. 2. Apply least square polynomial approximation on the discontinuity values. 3. Calculate the threshold Th . 4. if approximated discontinuity value is greater than the threshold Th, the corresponding frame i + 1 is declared as cut frame.

can u just help me in the first parts of this algorithm to extract histogram from each frame and compare frame i with frame i+1

See attached demo. Instead of taking the mean like I did for each frame, you can just call histogram() or histcounts(). It's very easy so I'm sure you can do it.
