features extraction and image processing

Hi everyone,

I tried to implement a code of feature extraction, at first I implemented on dataset pictures with size 77 K for each and its done.

the problem when I changed the dataset pictures with size 2 Mb, its took about two hours for finish.

how can I change the size of the pictures (they are about 60 pictures) and is this affect on feature extraction process?

Have you tried to resize images of dataset using imresize() function?

Yes, that's true. You can't get a benefit of speeding up by shrinking the image without some tradeoff, like losing resolution. If you just want faster with no drawbacks, then get a faster computer or try to analyze how your algorithm might be speeded up, like reversing the order of nested for loops, or other such things.
