Simulink scope trace is grayed out

In simulink I have a scope with three inputs.
The scope has 3 subplots.
The first and third input have a mux in front, and work fine.
The second input is just one signal with no mux. On its subplot, the signal is grayed out, and clicking the signal name in the subplot legend does not enable it. Cursor measurements however show the correct value for that signal.
I don't think I need data logging enabled; none of the other signals that work correctly have that.

I also tried with a one-input mux, but I am still unable to view that signal in the scope.

Could you provide some sample code that replicates the issue? This would help me understand the data flow and assist you in debugging the issue.
