I am going to update my license for 2024a and my license has that version listed. I want to update the license but keep the client software at 2022b for now. I will update the client software at a later date and need the backwards compatibility temporily. Is it possible to update my license to 2024a but keep the 2022b client software? Thank you.

I've seen that "You need to update your license" message before and I've done it with no problems. But then I always have our license manager pay the annual maintenance agreement and I update my MATLAB usually within a week or so of the new release coming out. So it's never been a problem for me. I doubt it would be for you either, but if you want to be absolutely sure, I'd just call tech support and ask for installation help in advance of telling it to update your license. Tell them you want to know if you should "update your license" even though you want to stay on the old release.
By the way, why do you not want to upgrade to the latest release?
What is it exactly in your code that is not backwards compatible, such that it works in r2022b but doesn't work in r2024a?

Thank you for the suggestion. There is nothing wrong with updating the client software. We have to go through a change control process and take down our main application around a software deployment scheule. Dependining on where in the process the developers are deploying their code determines if we can update the client software. We have to work around their schedule.
