Query regarding creation of digital twin

Our project is regarding creation of a digital twin of a pneumatic system driven injection molding machine. At first, we created a solidworks model of the injection molding machine and imported it to simscape through simscape multibody. But it showed many errors and it also was not actuating,Then we tried with just a pneumatic cylinder but the result was the same. Digital twin is where the physical model and virtual model works simultaneously. We connected the physical model to the PLC and made it work. But we needed to build a connection between the PLC and Matlab Simulink. We contacted many experts. They also tried to help us but it was of no use. So, my doubt is how to create the digital twin of the pneumatic system driven machine. I need the step by step procedure. Along with this, I also want to know how to interface between PLC and Matlab Simulink and also how to conduct predictive maintenance on it.
