CORRUPTED MAT FILE

Hello there, I have a corrupted .MAT file (<10 mb) as a resultant of an accidental system reboot. Wish to have the data stored in it as opposed to recompute it over a few days. Could any of you guys help in this regard. Thanks tons in advance. R

The fact, that the MAT-file is corrupted, means, that the contents of the file is corrupted. In consequence you cannot reconstruct the contents perfectly. Do you have a backup copy?
Perhaps you could reconstruct some parts of the file. But if the computations are important, repeating them is the best choice. Sorry.
Why do the computations need several days? You can use the profiler to find the most time-consuming part and post it here. Perhaps somebody finds a method to accelerate it.

Dear Jan, Firstly thanks for taking time to answer my question and sorry for the late response. Yes, I realised that there was no way around retrieving back the lost MAT file except reconstructing it back bit by bit for binary format. However your suggestion on profiling helped me a lot to reduce the computing time by adapting vectorising approach as opposed to my previously used for loops. THanks again.

Sometimes giving up is the best solution. Especially if this is used as a chance for improvements.
