xc = 0;
yc = 0;
zc = 0;
xr = 6378.1370*1000; % radius in km
yr = 6356.7523*1000; % radius in km
zr = 6371.0088*1000; % radius in km
[X,Y,Z] = ellipsoid(xc,yc,zc,xr,yr,zr);
surf(X,Y,Z,'EdgeColor','none');
hold on
plot3( data(1,:), data(2,:), data(3,:), 'g' );
xlabel( 'X' );
ylabel( 'Y' );
zlabel( 'Z' );
title( 'orbit' );
using this code I am able to plot the earth (as ellipsoid with the capability to change the coordinates of the center and the radius) and the orbit (in the attached file). The results can be seen in the figures attached.
My question is: How can I change the color of what called the earth to take the real color of the earth ?
I saw in this link (Plotting a 3-D Dome as a Mesh over a Globe - MATLAB & Simulink Example - MathWorks France) that I can plot the real color of the earth by loading these : "topo60c", and "coastlines". But I am receiving this message "Unable to find file or directory 'topo60c'.". I tried to download this toolbox but I didn't succedd to find it (if it is a toolbox).
Is there a way to plot the real shape of earth ?
Thank you

This File Exchange function wraps an image of earth acround a sphere.
