Font Ligatures in Matlab Editor

Since this 2018 post 5 years have past. Is there somehow we can enable font ligatures (example) in the Matlab editor?

An interesting idea. I need monospaced fonts to keep the overview. Ligatures would confuse me.

They’re an option in LaTeX (P.23), although I don’t know if the MATLAB LaTeX interpreter supports them.
