Failure on installation with different matlab version

Hi,

I am unable to install R2017b. During installation, it gives an error as there is problem with some .dll.. I had MALAB 2017 installed. But after I tried to install MATLAB on another user account with same login details and license, this problem occured and due to which, also the existing MATLAB on my PC was missing. So, I tried to download and install again. Since then, I am getting this Dll problem and it says MATLAB is open in some other PC: But I already tried uninstalling on other user account and trying to re-install only in my PC. I don't see MATLAB open anywhere. But I am still unable to install and ending up with same error. Could someone please let me know what is the actual problem here and how can I get back MATLAB installed on my account. Here is the screenshot:

Based on the name, I suspect that the problem is with part of the Instrument Control Toolbox. I recommend that for the moment you do not ask for Instrument Control to be installed, doing everything else first. Then try installing Instrument Control at the end.

Hey @Walter Roberson.. Thank you for looking through. But I did not install/ask for any Instrument control Toolbox. I tried just normal Matlab installing .exe

Ah I just realized that another way to parse the name would be as something to do with the flexlm license utilities. Are installing the licence manager ?

No @Walter Roberson.. I am not using licence manager. But just normal running through setup.exe form the matlab download package. Could you explain a little more if you meant anything else.

When you install Matlab you can choose to install only Matlab itself, or add different toolboxes. While the license manager isn't strictly speaking a toolbox, it may appear in this list.

So the question boils down to this: which checkboxes did you tick during the previous pages of the installation?

Why are you downloading and installing a 5 year old version? Why not download and install the latest version? At least give it a try since it's not working for you with the old version.

Hello all, Thank you for your suggestions. I have now solved it myself. I deinstalled everything through command prompt, logged off my account and then cleaned everything even from Task Manager. Then I reinstalled newly. It worked :) Thank you everyone for trying to help me

i also can't dowload the app , i don't have the univ email. any segetion ??
