Mean shift and normalized cut

What does mean shift segmentation mean with example? what is normalized cut segmentation? I have read lot of papers but couldn't understand,please give some simple explanation on these topics

Not sure if you've seen this presentation http://www.cse.psu.edu/~rcollins/CSE598G/introMeanShift_6pp.pdf but it's pretty good. Mean shift replaces a pixel value by the nearest stable pixel value. I don't know what "normalized cut segmentation" is.
