Description
vDAQ™ is an all-in-one data acquisition card for microscope control with ScanImage software. It controls Galvo and Resonant scanners, Pockels cells, Piezo objective positioners, shutters, and much more. The fast analog front end enables advanced techniques such as time correlated single photon counting, time-multiplexed acquisition, and gated acquisition. A powerful FPGA manages the synchronization of all microscope components and processes data in real-time on the card. The FPGA firmware is field upgradeable to unlock novel imaging techniques in the future. vDAQ™ excels at controlling 2-photon and 3-photon microscopes.
vDAQ is a PCIe data acquisition card designed to control laser scanning microscopes using a MATLAB® application named ScanImage. The software stack used to control vDAQ hardware uses the MEX interface to directly communicate with a kernel driver. On the MATLAB side, these MEX functions are wrapped in MATLAB classes that enable the communication with vDAQ from MATLAB code. This API is then used to implement a microscopy application in MATLAB.
