The bisection method is a root-finding method that applies to any continuous functions for which one knows two values with opposite signs. The method consists of repeatedly bisecting the interval defined by these values and then selecting the sub-interval in which the function changes sign, and therefore must contain a root. See the details method:
http://mathworld.wolfram.com/Bisection.html

Example:

Enter left point of interval 2

Enter right point of interval 3

Enter the error 0.001

The root is 2.706 >>
