Early school math olympiads often insolve problems of the following type:
Given 1 _ 2 _ 3 = 2, replace _ by a + or a -.

This MATLAB demo generates such problems. You can vary the number of operands, their numeric size (i.e. how big the numbers are) and what operands (+, -, /, etc.) are supported.
