PS. In retrospect, SASWRITE gets credit for an inventive approach, but for practical purposes, I would strongly recommend MySQL-mediated data transfer, discussed in 'The Twain Shall Meet: Facilitating Data Exchange between SAS and Matlab' (see link below).
