Overview
The Extended Tire Features for Vehicle Dynamics Blockset™ provides a complete set of tools for working with tire measurement data and tire models in vehicle dynamics simulations. It supports the full workflow from importing and preprocessing measured tire data, through visualization and model fitting, to exporting tire model parameters for use with Vehicle Dynamics Blockset™ and Simscape™ tire blocks.
Tire Manager App
Starting in R2026a, this submission includes the Tire Manager app, designed for users who prefer a graphical interface for tire data and tire model tasks. The Tire Manager app provides a centralized environment to:
  • Import and preprocess tire measurement data
  • Interactively visualize tire measurement data and tire model responses
  • Fit tire models to measurement data
  • Convert tire models from one type to another (e.g., Magic Formula 6.2 to Magic Formula 5.2)
  • Export tire models for use in Vehicle Dynamics Blockset and Simscape simulations
While remaining fully compatible with the underlying APIs, the app automates common workflows and makes it easy to get started quickly.
MATLAB APIs
For users who prefer script‑based workflows, the submission also provides a comprehensive set of MATLAB® APIs built around the tireData and tireModel objects. Using these APIs, you can:
  • Import tire measurement data from TYDEX v1.3, Calspan®, and columnoriented text files
  • Preprocess tire data using builtin operations including crop, filter, split, downsample, mean, and median
  • Create, import, convert, and fit tire models (including Magic Formula, Dugoff, and Fiala variants)
  • Plot tire data and tire model responses for analysis and validation
  • Export fitted tire model parameters to Vehicle Dynamics Blockset and Simscape tire blocks
These APIs enable reproducible, scalable workflows and are well suited for batch processing, optimization, and integration into larger simulation pipelines.
Simulink Models
Starting in R2026a, the submission provides additional built-in tire models. This includes new parameter sets for electric vehicle, commercial truck and motorcycle tire models. The block mask for the Vehicle Dynamics Blockset tire models includes a button to quickly install the additional parameter sets available here and to plot the force and torque response of the resulting model.
