Due to increased interest in this topic recently, I’ve opened a new poll and would appreciate you sharing your views.

What worries me now is that the MathWorks website only maintains online MATLAB documentation for the latest five years. If I am using an older release that predates this period, I will not be able to access the online documentation by default (unless I have previously downloaded the offline documentation).

I also really don't like this change. I'm slowly getting used to it, but it has not benefitted me in any way.

I also missed the poll, but really don't like the change. I have loads of browser tabs open anyway. Having Matlab just add to them is unhelpful, and leaves clutter, since they also don't get closed down when Matlab does. There's literally nothing better about it. If I wanted to use the online help before then I could do anyway (and sometimes I did).

I am already missing the 2022 version I previously had.

I didn't ask for this "improvement"
Rather than to fix desktop enviroment bugs people have complained for years, the developer intruduces an annoying inconvenient unnecessary feature.

I keep losing my help windows, they get intermingled with other browser windows that I keep sparate for different tasks. It opens in whichever was the last open, which may be on a different "desktop" that I use in windows all the time.

This change is ruining my user experience while using MATLAB. I program with the help browser open, and especially on my Mac while using Stage Manager (which shows one app at a time), bouncing back and forth between the browser and MATLAB is very inconvenient and unpleasant.

I think this change is okay, but the very bad experience is that opening the help documentation in the system browser is extremely time-consuming (not related to the network), and the redirects take too long.

I don't like that the documentation tabs can appear mixed up with all other browser tabs and that the Matlab help is no longer in a separate window. As a workaround I have written a small tool that uses a separate browser profile, https://de.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/176358-docu-separate-documentation-browser-tabs
