You need the MATLAB Compiler, which is optional and extra cost.

so is there no way to make the application cross platform like other java applications??
There is the optional Java Builder. I do not know what the code restrictions are for it: possibly the code would have to be compatible with the Embedded MATLAB subset.
Actually, MATLAB Builder JA (http://www.mathworks.com/products/javabuilder/) is an extension of MATLAB Compiler itself, and is not restrictive to the Embedded MATLAB subset.
Thanks, Kaustubha.
That would seem to imply that JA would have the same restrictions on compilation that the Compiler has, such as are described
