MCR not opening up

Hi,

I am having an issue with MCR and matlab executables. So we have matlab executables which are scheduled to fire at regular intervals but sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. When they do not it is fairly clear that the MCR isn't opening up in the background - the program ends way too quick and the MCR log isn't produced. Given no log is produced it's a little hard to pin down what might be actually happening. Has anybody seen this before?? Any tips on how I might pin down what might be happening??

What OS? On Windows you could check the event report to see if anything was logged.
