Simulink Dashboard Display error message "Connection Broken - Update diagram to fix#", displays were working in one model before, but when switched to similar model it stops.

Hello, I'm doing a trade study where I am looking at different but similar System Architectures. The hope was to create a simple GUI to make documenting results for these architectures visually appealing and also easy for me to log. I had completed a simple diagram with dashboard displays using an image from the architecture. After this I tried replicating the same in the different versions of the model, when I tried using the display this time, an error message always pops up no matter which signal I attach "Connection broken - update diagram to fix". Naturally i tried to updated the model using Ctrl+D, this did not fix the issue. I thought maybe it was because all the models were in the same folder so were using the same signal names (Similar models that have just been changed in small ways). I moved the model in question to another folder and tried again, but to no avail. A coworker suggested it might be an issue in simulation settings, we went through and made sure to check the "record logged data in Simulink Data inspector", we tried again and this did not work. I'm a bit lost as to what the issue could be here, has anyone else had a similar experience?
Some points about the model:
  • It is a steady state model
  • It is a big model with a lot of blocks
