how to find calibration factor for luminance measurements?

1. To find the luminance of a particular scene, the luminance from matlab is not matching with that of actual luminance.So i need to know how to find the calibration for this application? 2. Is it that this calibration factor varies with different softwares.

2. Yes.
Luminance calculation depends upon a number of assumptions about the type of materials and the light source. If those assumptions are not appropriate for the situation, the calculation will not give results that are appropriate for the situation.
