Memory overhead for map containers

Good day,

I was reading the page at http://www.mathworks.co.uk/help/matlab/matlab_prog/memory-allocation.html?searchHighlight=memory+allocation and I found it does not discuss memory requirements for map containers. Would anyone be able to share some information on the memory overhead involved when creating and accessing map containers, especially in comparison to numeric matrices?
