geoglobe connect to local Elevation Data Tiled map service

In the geoglobe function, it is only available to connect to an online elevation data 'gmted2010' or add terrain file names using addCustomTerrain function. Naturally, adding files manually is a limited solution for small scale maps. In large scale map it is required to be connected to a elevation data tiled map service.

Is it possible to connect to an local (offline) tiled map service including geotiff files in the standard format?

Note that the gmted2010 is also a standard TMS.
