MATLAB supported LIDAR devices

Hello,

Are there any other Lidars supported by MATLAB other than Velodyne, perhaps something a little more affordable for a student.

Hello Mark,

From R2022a, MATLAB supports "ouster os1-64" lidar sensor live streaming from Lidar Toolbox. In 22b, it will extend to 128 model. As Shashank mentioned, we will extend the hardware support to other sensors based on the market opportunities and customer requests.

Hello Tomas,

Currently the OSx-32 lidar sensor streaming is not supported from the Lidar Toolbox. We will add this model support in our roadmap and ship accordingly in coming releases.

You mention OSx-32 is not supported for streaming. Does ousterFileReader function work to read pcap files recorded by a OSO-32 instead of streaming?

Yes, ousterFileReader function supports reading pcap files recorded from OSx-32, OSx64 and OSx-128 models. Here "x" belongs to {0,1,2}.

Hi Mark,

As far as hardware is concerned MATLAB only support Velodyne lidar sensors and this link shows the supported sensor under velodyne. We might extend the support for other sensors in future but currently only velodyne is supported.
