how to make polyphase filterbank for mp3 encoding?

i want to get mdct coefficient from a sound file, but before calculate the mdct i have to create a polyphase filterbank that divide the sound file into 32 subband frequency which have the same bandwidth, i'm blank with matlab, could you give me the code?or at least give me a clue?
