Hi,
I'm new to MATLAB and am trying to calculate the output power of a turbine for a particular wind speed. I've got 2 variables (wind speed and output power) which can be plotted to give the power curve for a turbine.
Is it possible to save this curve and apply additional wind speed values to it to get the output power for that particular speed?
Thanks
Tomas

This is being answered as part of Matlab Answers cleanup effort:
A static curve cannot easiy be modified to apply to different wind speeds as the relationship between windspeed and power is not proportional and will depend on many details of your specific wind generator and other aspects just as altitude. You could either estimate roughtly (very rough!), by looking at theoretical max power extracted by wind speeds, or do a much deeper analysis based on your specific wind turbine. This would require creating a detailed model or contacting the manufacturer of the wind turbine you are analyzing as they should have a lot of insight into this issue.
Regards,
Joel
