After upgrading to Matlab R2021a, Simulink runs very slowly and often doesn't respond and freeze when creating and compiling models. I have a MacBook Air 2020 with Quad-Core Intel i5 1,1GHz, 8GB RAM, macOS Big Sur 11.2. Is there a way to improve the performance?

I have the same problem. Matlab runs very slowly (even if I don't use Simulink) and freezes very often. I use the same Macbook (but with Big Sur 11.3).

Hi Paul,
Please install the latest patch for R2021a to fix the issue.
You can find the patch in the MATLAB command window: Home > Help > Check For Updates
If the above method does not work for you, please grant full disk access to the MATLAB_R2021a app via the Security PAnel in System Preferences.
