Readcell and opening excel files is not working

I am the getting the below error when trying to open excel files from the file directory in matlab. I also am unable to use readcell, it keeps saying too many input arguments even though I am only using one input with the correct extension.

Hi Parth,

You can use readtable function to read the excel files into MATLAB. This function reads the data in a table.

T = readtable('data.xls');
