Error on install 2021a over 2019b Unrecognized function or variable 'matlab.in​ternal.add​ons.update​s.getSuppo​rtPackageU​pdates'.

I downloaded and installed Matlab 2021a to replace 2019b and I in the command window I get the error message

Unrecognized function or variable 'matlab.internal.addons.updates.getSupportPackageUpdates'.

Several popup windows follow. If I click OK on all of them I get one of them back at almost every action (like changing the working directory)

It reads "Error using matlab.internal.editor.OutputPackager"
