Customizing fitness function of genetic algorithm

HI, all
I am trying to implement a Genetic algorithm through matlab. Is there any code that I can customize the fitness function of GA?
I wonder if I have to implement it from scratch, or if there is a package that is easy to use.

Thank you. I tried to do it without using the tools, but it doesn't work.
