Call MATLAB Function from C# Client

I am using Visual Studio Professional 2019 and MATLAB 2020b. I was trying to run the following example code but receivng the exception that "Unable to cast COM object of type 'MLApp.MLAppClass' to interface type 'MLApp.DIMLApp". Does anyone know why? Thanks.
