How to model custom shapes?

As the question shapes, how would you go about making "custom shapes"?

The shapes I'm trying to draw aren't complicated, more like various globular/blobby shapes. But, because they aren't perfect shapes, I don't think I can use Matlab's circle, rectangle, etc. functions.

What are some resources/toolboxes/ways to try and model imperfect shapes?
