using urlread with in browser flash applications

With urlread you can get the source code of a web page, which i analyse to find specific data,

is there a way i could do a similar thing with a flash application? for example here is a very basic flash application: http://www.the-design-dept.com/flash.cfm#timer (the timer) is there a way i could write a script that has the ability to press play, leave it for a user defined amount of seconds then read back the time into a variable in matlab?

If this is impossible which it likely is can you recommend any other languages/methods i could use?
