How can I limit the size of triangles in a triangulation?

Hi,

I'm using a function from the exchange to create a triangulation of a fairly irregular shape. It works quite well but some of the triangles created go across an open space which should not have triangulations in it - the image below may be more condusive:

I've tried eliminating the large triangles by taking out the triangles with longest edges, however this only works partially - it works on another triangulation but I am unable to fix this one. Is there a way to filter by triangle size? Or other downloadable functions that can help?
