How can I measure this characteristic with matlab??

Hi, I need to measure the asymmetric distribution of color in a region of interest (detected object with a segmentation step). I tried with several method but no result. I found that there is a method called the symmetry map but i have no idea about it. How can I do this? There is an other method? I really need your help :(

Yes I asked this but i didn't get a result. I tried to devide my image using imcrop and rotate the second part with fliplr and finally use the SSIM algorithm but unfortunately it can't be used with color images. Also I tried to calculate the distance between the two histogram of two part of the region using chi-square but I find that this method can't be used with asymmetry :(

Pamela, you need to look into morphometrics http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morphometrics I'm not an expert in that field so I can't help you there.
