Column vector consisting of n words containing random numbers

I am working for Matlab for the first time, so can you please solve this task step by step? task: Create a column vector A consisting of n words containing random numbers. Then create a column vector B in which the words from the vector A are sorted in ascending order. Show results in the chart.

Did you try randi(), randperm(), sort(), or strsplit()? Because it's pretty easy:

txt = 'Create a column vector A consisting of n words containing random numbers. Then create a column vector B in which the words from the vector A are sorted in ascending order. Show results in the chart.'
words = strsplit(txt)
n = 5
% Choose the rule for the random numbers:
r = randi(length(words), n, 1) % Can possibly repeat
r = randperm(length(words), n) % No repeats
A = words(r)'
B = sort(A)

Why do you say they are not column vectors? Look:

See 5 rows by 1 column. All values are in a column, thus it's a column vector. How and why did you alter my code to have it not give you column vectors? Which version of r did you choose? Either one will give you column vectors though.

I have to create n-elementary column vector, so I can't choose a specific number

Then you can't have a variable. All variables in MATLAB take up some space on the computer. They can have variable space allocation, meaning their size is changeable, but they have to have a size. So n can be a variable but it MUST have some value - it absolutely must. You can't just say I want a column vector with n rows and not say what n is. How much memory would MATLAB allocate for it? It wouldn't know. If you're going to put values into the vector then it WILL have a size.

Let's say I read a huge document in with fileread() and then split it up and found 5000 unique words. OK, I've got your words. And then you say give me n of them. How am I supposed to know how many words to give you if you don't tell me what n is? Should I give you 1? 5? 1000? All 5000 of them? I can't give you n words until you tell me what n is.

Somewhere at some time, somebody has to assign a value to n.

I'd probably just loop and use fprintf() to print them out. Unless you think it wants a uitable control, like a spreadsheet.
