How can I influence the Simulink auto generated code to not compile a bus as a constant instance

I would like to modify certain variables found in a bus that was auto generated as a constant:
// Constant parameters (auto storage)
const ConstP_Main_ConstP = {
// Expression: ConfigParam_param
// Referenced by: '<Root>/ConfigParam_param'
What influences the code generator to treat is as a constant. How can i force Simulink and Matlab coder to generate it as code that I can modify in a wrapper?
